Our free business link networking events, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and Microloan financial assistance program are designed to help the small business or new entrepreneur the guidance and support they need to realize their goals.
BUSINESS LINK NETWORKING EVENTS
Lakewood Business Links program offers a forum and platform where Lakewood entrepreneurs and business owners can meet on a regular basis in an informal setting to get to know one another, and to familiarize themselves with each others’ products and services and help each other grow. Each of these bi-monthly events is centered around a presentation providing information and solutions to a specific set of challenges that local business owners face. Renowned experts such as Adam Lieberman, Ed Mendlovic CPA and Joel Klein have shared their experience and know-how with our Business Link attendees to help them take their businesses to the next level.

MICROLOAN PROGRAM
The Urban Enterprise Zone Microloan program was established to assist start-up or expanding small businesses and is funded by the Lakewood Development Corporation (LDC). Qualified applicants may borrow up to $35,000 in low interest loans with very manageable payment terms. The loan is available to existing businesses that require the funds to expand their operations or to new startups.
LCSC staff is ready and available to help small businesses through the process of obtaining the loans. Assistance is provided for every aspect of the loan process including the preparation of sound business plans, financial statements and marketing plans and coaching for the presentation of the loan application to the UEZ Finance Committee.
LCSC is constantly working to streamline the process to make it more user friendly. LCSC has assisted well over 100 local businesses in obtaining low interest Urban Enterprise Loans. All services are provided free of any charges.
